Featured Speaker: Sr. Rose Rita Huelsmann, Criminal Justice Ministry
Topic: A Moratorium on Executions in Missouri Sister Rose Rita Huelsmann, School Sisters of Notre Dame, is the Volunteer Coordinator for Criminal Justice Ministry, a program of St. Vincent de Paul. She deals with some 200 volunteers who visit or teach or write people inside of jails and prisons. She works with the re-entry program that houses men and women recently released from prison. She also teaches in City Justice Center and County Justice Center. She has taught in Potosi, Bonne Terre and Farmington prisons. Sister Rose's background is Education, having been a principal and teacher for 27 years in the Catholic School System in Missouri, California and Illinois. She was a missionary for two years in Honduras, California, and a House Parent for the Boys Hope/Girls Hope program in St. Louis, Mo. She is beginning her 4th year with Criminal Justice Ministry.
